Our Mission

Active representation

How we act

BOGK represents the interests of its members in Germany and the EU – from the German Bundestag to the EU Commission. It has a direct line to the responsible institutions.

Particularly close are the contacts with the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMELV), the BVL (Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety), BfR (Federal Institute for Risk Assessment) and BLE (Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food). In addition, BOGK maintains the closest relations with the associations of the upstream and downstream sectors.

This allows BOGK a direct influence on current draft legislation in German and European economic, agricultural and environmental policy.

Lobbying for the industry

BOGK represents its members in a wide range of comprehensive, „horizontal“ issues.

In particular it supports its members in business relations with food retailers – especially when talking about issues of abuse of dominant market positions.

Topics include the quality of logistics services, the framework of waste management and the recycling of used sales packaging.

Representing the industry

In the media and the press BOGK is the political „organ“ of the industry. The press work on current issues – particularly on the economic situation of companies and crop situation – is a core task of the German Association. At trade fairs BOGK organizes the representation of the industry in form of joint exhibition stands.
